So much of it however is training the people first… she walked in and immediately raised her dog's excitement level with her behavior. I am not saying the method is not good, but successful dog training isn't just about the dog.
Thank you! I’ve seen so many videos that rely on instructing guests or strangers (which can be awkward), asking people to ignore the dog which for some reason people don’t know how to do, or using treats I don’t carry on walks. This approach is much more practical ! I can’t wait to try it!
I cant get condition to do that. Gęsta? No problem. But problem is… Outside. Dog act like jexdont going to, but them find one second to lock someone in face. And this leash method cant work, becouse its imposible to block leash im move…
My dog is waaaaaay too persistent for this. We'd be at the front door all night. He's like an energizer bunny he doesn't stop. Maybe more like that liquid metal Terminator. He's crazy and will not stop until he gets his way.
I will recommend no to create excitement talking to a dog when entering to the house. The dog is already excited to see you. And reward with a touch when demonstrating the right behavior. Training with the leash, it really works! Thanks
Thank u thank u thank u .. today i had an incident with my german shepherd puppy 9 months i took in and she went crazy cuz a guy was at the door i couldn't keep her down im gonna be 60 in week this helps… tytyty
Oh, I need this. I'm picking up my daughter's pit bull pup later today for a week. He gets so excited when meeting anyone and coming into her home, you take your life into your own hands from him jumping. He's getting too big, with a head that looks like it's a concrete block.
I tried this. My dog knew he was on a leash and wouldn't jump while on the leash but he went straight back to jumping once he was off leash. Didn't learn anything and I am starting to get frustrated about it.
OK, where dog jumps on you, dont say a word. Just knock it on its keister with your leg. You're not trying to hurt the dog, just make him understand that there's no reward in jumping on people. then have friends and have them do the same. Dogs do things that reward them. Getting knocked on your behind is no reward.
The probkem is jumping on ME thats the major is … I have a Yorkie Poo grand dog that I swear shouldve been the circus!!! She is 11 and her ups are crazy still… not only is this annoying it is now VERY painful for me..I have hypersensitvity amd neuropathy in both my legs…they literslly feel like from the second I open my door there is the rush … and slam jumping ALL the way around my body ON my lefs > promise its at least 8 jumps in 10 secs… I wanna kick her .. 😢😢😂😢
This is great but it assumes that jumping happens when ppl initially come in. Not so with melly. A guest could be in the house for 5, 15, 45, etc minutes, pet her for the umpteenth time and she decides to jump. Can't use this tactic for that.
Thank you SO much for this. I've been trying to teach my 1 year old golden retriever for awhile now, but it wasn't working. I thought we were getting somewhere at first, but when she got excited and scratched the receptionist at the vet the other day, I knew that I had to try something else. It's only been a few days since then and I'm already noticing some progress, and I'm so relieved that it's working. Again, THANK YOU. I'm certainly recommending you to others if they need help with their dog.
Hi! I have a sweet but timid 1 year old rescue from a shelter. When I come home she jumps and leans into me because she wants affection. I would like to teach her to jump as command but I'd prefer if she doesnt do reactively. Is there a way for me to teach her "UP" while also discouraging her from doing it every time I come home or to strangers? I appreciate any advice!
The key is that you need a second person to help you train, someone who can trigger the same behavior, so that it can be corrected. My problem is, I can't get anyone to help enforce this rule; everyone I know is like "no its fine," or they immediately treat my 2 crazy dogs like babies, and they go nuts. I'm the only one they respect; all other people would either keep their distance or literally refuse to do anything other than reinforce the bad behavior.
So what do you do if you don’t have your dogs on a leash? You live out in the country and a UPS driver comes to walk across the yard for a delivery and your dogs run to them and jump all over them.

Our Cavapoo mini weighs about 9 pounds and she constantly shows her love by putting her paws up on my legs. Not a bother but annoying to some visitors
If you need additional tips, Hasan shows how to correct on his stream as well

lol try stepping on a leash with a German shepherd
how about when the leash gives your dog anxiety and they bite you and bite the leash
My German Shepherd puppy chews the leash as well ..
This doesn’t work if he jumps on you….
😊

What if the dog jumps on yourself upon greeting and no one else is around?
I've been doing this for my last 3 dogs, it has always worked for me. This guy is correct, listen to him.
🎉 your videos are sooooo helpful! Thank you

And if they are not wearing a leash?

This can potentially hurt your dog in the long run. Just ask a vet.
"Sounds" easy… lol

She should have not accelerated the dog by sweet talking and acknowledging it

I'm going to try this on my pitbull

Thanks that’s very helpful. I am working on this with my dog right now!
My dog was more crazy than your dog
Yeah he will correct himself once they be been there two minutes. It's when they first come through the door
He's jumping on his back legs bless
I quite like having my lad jumping up at me it's his way of saying hello and showing affection. But I'd rather he not do it to strangers
I’ve done this exact method but with a prong collar on. Worked wonders for my Cané corso
I’m a bit confused- the dog couldn’t jump cos there wasn’t enough lead to let it …
Wow Carly’s reward reaction time is on point!
What's updog?
Wow 10-15 mins !!!!!!!
My dog is similar but probably 2x worse. Mine is so difficult he’s just so hyper and constantly excited.
What's up dog?
Thank you, I will try this. Every thing else has failed.

How do you demonstrate on something that the dog is already trained on
The key is that you need a second person to help you train, someone who can trigger the same behavior, so that it can be corrected. How to correct 3 dogs that hype each other up?
