I'm a retired k9 officer. The problem I see her is, how is the dog going to know what to do if you don't first train obedience. For example, if you use the collar to train come, then use the collar to train sit. How does the dog know which one to do sit or come. Train your commands by voice first. That way the dog learns the sound of each command and you build a relationship with the dog while training. Then use the collar as a combination device to get the dogs attention at a distance. If the dog is trained well you should not need to use the collar when the dog is close. View the collar as a phone to call the dog .

My dog is smart enough to know if she has the collar on or off. When it’s on she’s an angel and listens well. When we have it off of her she plays dumb and doesn’t listen to anything. Super frustrating dog.

I was thinking about using it to deter one of my rough collies to not escape when I'm training. A little information I have an old horse fence, adequate for horses and sheep, but not a dog. I have my agilty stuff setup there and I train them there. My other guys stay in no problem, but one likes to sneak off when I'm focusing on something else and gets out. How would I go about using it in this situation or can I? I plan to redo the fence, but that is going to be a while.

Can you recommend a specific collar to buy?

I really appreciate your content. Both high level dog training, which we really want, as well as excellent explanation and teaching for us humans, which we really need. You have a really good attitude and I think address people's concerns pre-emptively very well.

I’m told in other videos is the pager is more adverse to the dog than it he light stim. I’ve been training my dog on light stim instead of pager for a week. Should I change to pager? Or should I associate the vibrate with correction

I hate these things. My father in law had used a collar similar to this to “train” his big dog.

Sure the dog comes to him MOST of the time when he presses the button, but when that collar is off, the dog is completely uncontrollable with natural commands. The dog and owner have become so reliant on that collar that if it is off, there is simply NO control.

Do you press the button for the dog to come and again to sit next to you?

Hi, thank you so much for the video. I’m looking for those comfort pads — the wingtips — but I have no idea where to find them. Could you please send me a link to where I can buy them? Thanks a lot!

You're a great trainer! Do you have a video on how to train with an e collar a boundary line outside? Not really just come but to actually obey a pretend fence? The electrical fences don't work for my property.

Kevin, I'm not sure if that comment could be any more off topic! Matt, thanks for the content!
