Love your videos! Have a few questions,,,,,,,How old should the dog be to start lose leash training? What do you use for a punisher when it is indoor, like jumping up on furniture, steal shoes, get in garbage etc. And when you first got Arrow how did you crate him all day without barking and whining? I have a 7 mos labradoodle/choc lab neutered 50+ lbs……he is a very active, game playing, loving wild man.
You are a brilliant communicator; one of the best I've ever observed online (IMHO as a trial lawyer for 45 years!) We plan on contacting you to help w/ Domino. Thanks for the excellent video library. Best of the best.
Asome Miles😃started today with Tobias my Border collie and have been working on reactivity to the environment in general, small steps for his confidence building❤Thanks so much!!
The ladder is called "proofing" your training. Setting up for succes meant for me to set up training for the dog in such a way as to make it possible for the dog being able to finish successfully and never end when your dog is still failing but always end it when the dog is succesful. What happens on this journey doesn't count even if the dog fails 10 times and you have to correct it 10 times. Just take a step back if necessary.
I really wanted to do your on line training Miles, though not in my budget at this time, though would be worth every dollar, however, this particular video spoke loud and clear to me with my border collie rescue, I’m the leader and need to know how and why!!! Got him last November, been doing leash reactivity and he’s done well, WE can do better! I’m 77 years and am very active, have a brother in Seattle and wished I lived there at times, in Savannah Ga at present. Maybe by October a goal of mine would be to do your on line training more for me than Tobias, border collie 😊 Thanks for giving generously of your time and Expertise, Invaluable my friend!!!!!!❤
Excellent videos! Searching through the internet in the past two years about dog behavior and your content is by far the most useful I ve found. Greetings from Brazil!
Best thing about dog training is u learn just as much from ur dog as ur dogs learning from you. Thats how you build a solid foundation to successful training. You n dog needs to be intune with each other. They need to know what ur expectations are n you need to know their learning style snd learning pace. When both intune, its smooth sailing from their on.

What treats do you recommend for the reward? What length of leash do you recommend for outside walks?
